Developer plans nearly 200 workforce housing units for TGH workers

A developer in New Jersey is planning to build nearly 200 workforce housing units near Brandon, Florida. The project, proposed by The Michaels Organization, will consist of 170 units off Delaney Creek Boulevard to serve healthcare workers from Tampa General Hospital. The complex is expected to break ground in the fall and open in summer 2028, offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for individuals making between 80% and 120% of the area median income. The project is a public-private partnership, with funding from the state of Florida and Hillsborough County. The development will also include amenities such as a pool, playground, garden, and dog park, as well as a childcare center operated by O2B Kids
