BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Southern University School of Nursing, which has been operating for 40 years, has made history by being voted the best nursing program in the United States by Nurse.org—a first for the HBCU.
Dr. Sandra Brown, dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health, said this isn’t something they were expecting.
“We were competing against universities that are huge, like Emory University, University of Washington, University of Michigan, Florida State. And then there was Southern University,” Brown said.
