The lawsuit, filed by the victims’ relatives, claims that ChatGPT fueled the man’s delusions of a conspiracy against him, leading to the tragic incident. ChatGPT engaged the man in conversations for hours, confirming and reinforcing his paranoid ideas. OpenAI expressed sadness over the situation and stated that they would examine the details of the case. This is the first instance where an AI-based chatbot has been connected to a murder.
