Usher and Chris Brown Cancel Four R&B Tour Dates as Chris Brown Faces Sentencing in London

The R&B superstars have canceled several October stadium concerts as Chris Brown prepares to return to a UK courtroom later this month.

Fans hoping to see Usher and Chris Brown together on their massive R&B Tour are getting some disappointing news.

Four upcoming concerts have been canceled, and while the tour promoter is citing concerns about the health and well-being of the touring crew, the cancellations also come as Chris Brown prepares for a major court appearance overseas.

The canceled performances include:

  • October 17: Baltimore, Maryland — M&T Bank Stadium
  • October 24: Cincinnati, Ohio — Paycor Stadium
  • October 29: Columbia, South Carolina — Williams-Brice Stadium
  • October 31: Indianapolis, Indiana — Lucas Oil Stadium

The cancellations were announced Friday, October 9, leaving thousands of fans disappointed.

What’s Behind the Cancellations?

According to a statement shared by Lucas Oil Stadium, the promoter made the difficult decision to cancel select dates to protect the health and well-being of the performers and touring crew following an extensive run of sold-out stadium concerts.

The promoter explained that the demands of a tour this size are significant and that the adjustments will allow the remaining performances to continue safely.

However, the timing of the cancellations is also raising questions because Chris Brown is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom later this month.

Chris Brown’s Legal Troubles in London

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced at London’s Southwark Crown Court on October 26, 2026, after pleading guilty in July to affray in connection with a February 2023 incident at a London nightclub.

The case stems from an altercation at Tape nightclub involving a music producer.

Brown previously faced more serious charges, which prosecutors dropped as part of a plea agreement. He remains on bail pending sentencing.

Under his bail conditions, Brown must return to the United Kingdom ahead of his court appearance.

Although the canceled concerts fall around that court date, the tour promoter has not officially connected the cancellations to Brown’s legal proceedings.

What Happens to the R&B Tour Now?

Despite the cancellations, the entire tour has not been called off.

Usher and Chris Brown are currently scheduled to resume their stadium performances on November 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, kicking off a five-show run in the city.

Additional performances remain scheduled in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami and other cities.

What About Tampa Bay?

For Tampa Bay fans, there’s some good news!

Usher and Chris Brown are still scheduled to bring the R&B Tour to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on December 11 and 12.

As of October 12, neither Tampa performance has been announced as canceled.

Of course, with Brown’s upcoming sentencing, fans will want to keep an eye on the tour schedule for any additional developments.

Refunds for Canceled Shows

Fans who purchased tickets for the four canceled performances through Ticketmaster should receive automatic refunds to their original payment method, generally within 14 to 21 days.

For now, the remaining R&B Tour dates are moving forward as scheduled.
