Trader Joe’s has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit for $7.4 million, which alleged that the grocery chain violated FACTA by printing receipts showing both the first six and last four digits of customers’ credit or debit card numbers. The company denies any wrongdoing and states that there have been no known cases of identity theft linked to the receipts. Eligible customers who made purchases at Trader Joe’s between March 5, 2019, and July 19, 2019, using a credit or debit card may qualify for a payout of $102.45 if the settlement is approved.
