The Florida Department of Transportation has launched a project to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with over 100 new signs placed in iconic locations across the state. Each sign features the name of the area on the front and a brief history on the back. The project aims to encourage exploration of Florida’s history and culture, with 15 spots highlighted in the Tampa Bay region. Booklets with information on the ‘Road Trip Florida’ locations are available for free at Florida rest areas and welcome centers, and can also be found on America250FL.com.
