Updates - A 17-year-old Brandon teen was detained after the shooting and faces charges including possession of a firearm by a minor.
No one has been arrested for the shooting itself that injured a 17-year-old. The 17-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.
Clearwater PD Deputy Chief Michael Walek made it clear at a press conference after a 17-year-old was shot at Clearwater Beach yesterday, “This is the first weekend of school being out and this is going to be the last weekend that this type of thing happens.”
Officials said the gunfire broke out shortly after a fight during a planned gathering organized through social media.
