Warren Sapp has filed a lawsuit against the City of Tampa for violation of the First Amendment. The lawsuit was filed regarding a Sept. 17 public City Council meeting during which Sapp was removed after officials “deemed his presence objectionable,”. On that day, Sapp entered Tampa City Hall to obtain paperwork. Rather than permit Sapp to conduct his business in a public government building, city officials escalated his presence into a governmental confrontation.” The city council meeting was interrupted, the council chambers locked, and Sapp, according to the court documents, was declared “out of order.” As a result, TPD were summoned, and Sapp was removed from City Hall and trespassed for the day. In a post on Facebook, Sabatini Law Firm P.A., who representing Sapp’s, said that they “look forward to presenting Mr. Sapp’s case in court and holding the City of Tampa accountable.”
