Gordie’s Midday Gossip: Job Fair

Tampa International Airport is hosting a hiring day event on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 9am to 12pm to fill seasonal and full-time positions in preparation for the holiday travel season. The event will take place in the main terminal building and is expected to attract 2,000 applicants.

Airport Senior Manager of Communications Josh Gillin said there are 300 jobs available for the event, and he urges people attending to come ready for a job interview. “Come prepared,” he said. “Pretend it’s a job interview, because in most cases it will be. You aren’t just talking to people about what’s available. They may just interview you and hire you on the spot.”“So show up with your resume, all your information,” he added.

Gillin also said that job seekers should bring two forms of identification in order to be cleared for a security badge if hired. Airport officials said it has jobs available for its police force, as well as for retail shops, restaurants and support services like ground handling and general aviation. The airport recommends people attending the job fair park in the economy garage and take the SkyConnect shuttle to the main terminal building. Parking in the economy garage will be free for the hiring day, with parking ticket validation.
