De La Soul’s New Album Title Is A Tribute To Trugoy The Dove

De La Soul has announced the title of their upcoming album, “Cabin in the Sky,” in honor of their late member Trugoy The Dove. The album is set to be released in November via Mass Appeal Records. The group reflected on Trugoy’s passing and how it influenced the recording process, with Posdnuos feeling his presence during the creation of the album. “Cabin in the Sky” will be De La Soul’s first album in almost a decade and is part of Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It series, featuring releases from iconic New York hip-hop artists. Other upcoming releases in the series include Big L’s posthumous LP and a joint album from Nas and DJ Premier.
