Erykah Badu turned a music tribute into a spiritual celebration honoring the late D’Angelo, calling him “one of our greatest sonic architects.” Meanwhile, philanthropist MacKenzie Scott surprised several HBCUs with a combined $38 million in new donations—funds earmarked for scholarships and community programs.

Add to that the unveiling of a new Rosa Parks statue in Montgomery and a wave of Black-owned fashion houses showcasing during Paris Fashion Week, and you’ve got a week full of wins worth celebrating.
