American rapper Gucci Mane recently opened up about his struggles with bipolar disorder, paranoid schizophrenia, and addiction during an interview on ABC’s Nightline. He reflected on how years of instability impacted his personal life and career, discussing his journey towards recovery. Gucci Mane revealed that his 20s and early 30s were marked by severe substance abuse and worsening mental health challenges, leading to deeper psychological struggles that significantly affected his behaviour. He also talked about his memoir, “Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man,” released on October 14, 2025, which documents his experiences and highlights the support of his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, throughout his recovery journey. The rapper described experiencing “episodes” where he would lose control, have memory lapses, hear voices, and behave irrationally, comparing the experience to a snowball effect that eventually led to complete instability.
