Director Allen Hughes, best known for his work in the ’90s with his brother Albert on films like Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, From Hell, and The Book of Eli, is returning to the big screen. He’s set to direct a new biopic about Snoop Dogg, which will begin filming in early 2025. The film is being described as the “definitive” take on the rapper’s life and career and will be co-written by Hughes and Black Panther writer Joe Robert Cole.
Casting is now underway, and producers are looking for a fresh face to play Snoop, not a well-known actor. Filming is expected to start in the second quarter of 2025.
