Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s body arrives in Washington for three days of mourning, including lying in state at the U.S. Capitol and a funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral. Carter, who died at 100, served as the 39th president and was known for his humanitarian work. Security in Washington is heightened ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Both Trump and President Joe Biden are expected to attend Carter’s funeral service on Thursday.
