McDonald’s is finally able to fix its biggest problem—their ice cream machines.
A U.S. Copyright Office exemption allows third parties to diagnose and repair commercial food preparation equipment like McDonald’s ice cream machines.
Before now, only Taylor-trained employees could use these devices. If McDonald’s ice cream machine broke down, they’d have to wait for a Taylor-certified technician to diagnose and fix it.
Now, anyone with the right training can diagnose and repair the problem. The Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department report high wait times for certified soft serve machine repairmen who charge “over $300 per fifteen minutes.”
Soft-serve equipment failures cost eateries $625 per day, the filing alleged.
