After dropping the first two games of the 2026 World Series to the Milwaukee Brewers, the Rays return to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg tonight (Monday, October 26) for Game 3. First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET, with the game airing nationally on FOX.
Milwaukee leads the best-of-seven series 2-0 after winning Friday’s opener 3-2 and rallying from a four-run deficit Saturday to beat Tampa Bay 5-4.
Now the Rays are hoping a little home-field advantage can help turn things around.
World Series Fever Takes Over Tampa Bay
The excitement goes well beyond the baseball diamond!
St. Petersburg is preparing for huge crowds as World Series baseball returns to Tropicana Field. City officials expect more than 100,000 visitors throughout the series, including fans attending games and enjoying downtown businesses.
With traffic expected to be heavy, fans are encouraged to arrive early. Stadium gates open three hours before first pitch, and downtown parking with shuttle service may offer an alternative to parking near the Trop.
The city is also stepping up security, with additional police officers, traffic control and other safety measures in place.
For Tampa Bay, this World Series appearance is about more than baseball. It’s another major moment for a community that has worked to recover from the devastating hurricanes of 2024.
The Rays Are Chasing History
This is Tampa Bay’s third trip to the World Series, following appearances in 2008 and 2020. The franchise is still searching for its first championship.
The Milwaukee Brewers are also looking for their first World Series title, meaning one of these two teams will make history.
