U.S. News & World Report has released its rankings of the top historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) for 2027, with Spelman College in Georgia taking the top spot. Howard University in Washington, D.C., ranked No. 2, followed by Tuskegee University in Alabama at No. 3, Morehouse College in Georgia at No. 4, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University at No. 5. The rankings are based on outcome measures such as graduation rates and post-graduate success, with Spelman College leading the way in providing quality education to Black students. Last year, the Trump administration redirected nearly $500 million in federal funding toward HBCUs, showing support for these institutions.
