Mixed Verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs Federal Trial: Acquitted of Major Charges, Convicted on Two Counts

A federal jury delivered a mixed verdict in the high-profile criminal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs on Tuesday. Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, but was found guilty on two counts of transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

Sentencing and Legal Outlook Combs, 55, now faces a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years — 10 years for each of the two counts on which he was convicted. Had the jury found him guilty on the more serious charges, he could have faced life in prison.

Bail Request Pending Following the verdict, Combs’ legal team requested his release while he awaits sentencing. Prosecutors opposed the motion, and the presiding judge stated a decision will be made after both sides submit formal written arguments by 1 p.m. ET.

Courtroom Reaction After hearing the verdict, Combs turned to the courtroom gallery and applauded. Supporters, including family and friends, responded with cheers and applause.
