Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff are collaborating on a scripted series called 215, which tells the story of their struggle to break into the hip-hop scene in West Philadelphia in the late Eighties. The show follows a teenage rapper, his DJ partner, and their friends as they chase a record deal and navigate sudden fame. Developed by Smith’s Westbrook Studios and the Malar Group, the series celebrates the rise of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince during a defining era in Philadelphia’s hip-hop scene. The duo, known for hits like “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” remained friends even as Smith became a megastar, and have reunited sporadically over the years.
