The City of Tampa announced on Apr. 24 that it is accepting applications from residents to serve on its Community Benefits Advisory Council, a non-partisan board that will advise the Mayor and other officials about the implementation of development projects.
According to city officials, at-large members of the council will serve two-year terms and participate in all ongoing project reviews during their tenure. One at-large member will be appointed by the Mayor and another by City Council. Individuals with backgrounds in land planning, economic development, banking or finance, affordable housing, landscape architecture, or similar fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside within Tampa city limits but do not need to live within one-half mile of any specific project. Applications can be submitted through the Clerk’s Office website by selecting either “Apply for Initial Board Position or for Reappointment.” The deadline for submission is Monday, May 11.
