Do you plug in your phone every night, so you can wake up to a 100% battery? If so, you might be cutting the life of your phone by 10% to 15%.
Regularly charging your phone to 100% can cause the battery to age faster over time. That’s because keeping a battery fully charged puts it under higher voltage, which can deteriorate your phone’s battery 10% to 15% faster. So, unless you want to buy phones more often, it’s best to stop charging around 90% each time. And letting it go dead at 0% isn’t great either. For everyday use, the sweet spot is keeping your battery between 20% and 80%.
Of course, if you have a big travel day, don’t be afraid to charge it up to 100%, so it’ll stay alive as long as possible. Just try not to make it an everyday habit. And another big battery killer is heat. So, you should only use fast chargers sparingly, since they generate more heat during charging.
