Florida deputies stepped in to help save a senior citizen who almost lost his entire life savings to a gold bar scheme. A Martin County man was contacted by someone claiming to be from his financial institution and was told that his bank account had been compromised. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the person convinced the victim that the safest way to protect his money was to “back it up” with gold. The victim was told to send $600,000 to a legitimate gold vendor, where the gold would be picked up by a third-part driver and supposedly delivered to the bank. He initially followed through with the transaction, but felt like something was wrong, so he went to his bank. Deputies were able to stop the transaction and helped ensure the victim’s money was returned.
Don’t Fall for the SCAM!!!!!
