Pinellas County residents impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton can now apply for hurricane recovery funds through the county’s People First Hurricane Recovery Programs. The initiative aims to assist homeowners, renters, and landlords with home repairs, reimbursements, home buyer assistance, and disaster-related costs. At least 70 percent of the $813M funding will benefit residents with low to moderate incomes. The application process is set to be expedited, with funds expected to reach applicants by Christmas. St. Petersburg residents will have a similar program launching in November, and People First Help Centers will be available for assistance starting today October 20.
