Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is backing a proposal for a reality show where immigrants compete for citizenship, and she’s even offering government officials to act as judges.
The show is called “The American”, and it would have contestants riding around the country on a train, competing in “regionally specific” contests, like log-rolling in Wisconsin.
The guy who’s pitching it is a writer-producer who’s worked on “Duck Dynasty” and “Millionaire Matchmaker”.
He’s an immigrant himself, and he claims there’s no political ideology behind the show. Quote, “I am merely trying to make a show that celebrates . . . what it means to be American . . . through the eyes of the people who want it most.”
The winner would be sworn in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
