LL Cool J is speaking about his past tensions with fellow hip-hop icon Jay-Z. The rapper explained an encounter where he was challenged by up-and-coming rappers and admitted to running out of rhymes. LL now insists that Jay-Z did not “get him” and that the moment was unfortunate timing. He also dismissed rumors that his 1996 hit “Loungin’ (Who Do Ya Luv)” contained subliminal disses towards Jay-Z, arguing that Hov was still in the early stages of his career at that time.
Currently, LL has a new album, ‘THE FORCE,’ that will feature many high-profile guests. Eminem, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes and Saweetie will all appear on the upcoming 14-track record, produced entirely by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip. He says “My new album THE FORCE launches 9/6/2024. I’m ready lol,” said LL on Instagram.
