If you were on a first date and found out the person worked as a government lobbyist, would it change your opinion of them? An annual Gallup poll found lobbyist is the LEAST trusted profession, or it’s at least way down there. They don’t ask about every job in the world. But of the 23 jobs listed, lobbyist ranked last. Only 4% of Americans rate them as more honest and ethical than average. The next least-trusted profession is . . . being a member of Congress. The rest of the bottom five are TV reporters . . . advertising practitioners . . . and car salespeople. Nurses were voted the MOST trusted profession for the 24th year in a row. 76% of Americans rate them as more honest and ethical than average. Then it’s grade school teachers . . . military officers . . . pharmacists . . . and doctors.
