Governor DeSantis visits USF and talks cuts to H1B visas and “woke grants” at Florida colleges

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Today in St. Cloud, he announced that Florida has filed a major lawsuit against textbook publishers McGraw Hill and Savvas Learning for overcharging our school districts at the expense of Florida taxpayers and students.

Governor DeSantis was at USF on Wednesday to talk DOGE-type audits at colleges here in Florida.

Some of the things that came out of his visit were -

All tenured professors must now undergo review every five years and can be terminated for poor performance.

He will now be directing the Florida Board of Governors to pull the plug on the use of H1B visas in state universities.

The state has either repurposed or cancelled more than $33M in DEI-related grants that were made to Florida’s public universities.
