Polk County issues 94 citations on first day of school for stop-arm camera violations

After averaging 74 citations per day in 2025, Polk County drivers aren’t stopping (literally) as we start the 2026 school year. They issued 94 citations to drivers who illegally passed stopped school buses equipped with automated safety cameras on the first day of school.
