Rebuilding for Tomorrow Storm Damage Assistance Program

N.C. Auditor says hurricane relief program wasted millions, delayed recovery for thousands

Hillsborough County is expanding its Rebuilding for Tomorrow Storm Damage Assistance Program to help residents outside of Tampa access financial aid for storm-related damage. The program is available to households earning up to 120% of the area median income, with pop-up assistance sites set up throughout the county to assist with applications. County officials have allocated $211 million in assistance funding for homeowners impacted by recent storms, with the program remaining open until funds are exhausted. Pop-up sites are available in Wimauma and Plant City every Monday and Tuesday in June to help residents navigate the application process.
