Some folks might be surprised with the new eligibility requirements for the SNAP program. One of the main ones is that able-bodied adults will need to prove they are working at least 80 hours a month, pursuing an education, or in a training program to keep qualifying for SNAP. If they can’t provide proof, they can only receive benefits for a maximum of three months.
The work requirement also applies to any able-bodied adult under 65 and took effect on December 1st.
