Starting with an Executive Order signed by President Trump back in March, most federal payments will be issued electronically starting Sept 30th.
The White House has made it clear that they believe the use of paper-based payments, like checks and money orders, “imposes unnecessary costs; delays; and risks of fraud, lost payments, theft, and inefficiencies.”
