In a 5-2 vote, Manatee County Commissioners approved teen curfew effective immediately. The curfew requires minors under 17 to be off the streets by 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and by midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The curfew makes exceptions for minors accompanied by a parent or guardian, traveling to or from work, or attending school, religious or community events. First-time violators will receive a written warning and be taken home. A second violation carries a civil fine starting at $50.
