Dedrick “DJ ShyGuy” Sykes was a staple here in the Tampa entertainment community. The popular DJ was shot and killed in Ybor City on Saturday night in what’s being called a roadway dispute. The incident is still under investigation but its being reported that the shooter is claiming self-defense and is cooperating with police.
According to WFLA, TPD has also confirmed that the shooter is not an off-duty TPD officer as rumored on social media. DJ ShyGuy was 41.
